Network Deployment

Glow’s modular Network Deployment Services are directly geared to the needs of the clients whether they are equipment vendors, service providers, carriers, or other end users. Our goal is to help clients remain focused on their core business: delivering quality service to their customers.

Glow’s suite of network deployment services covers every aspect from field engineering, project engineering and equipment installation, to traffic integration, test and turn-up, and cutover. Detailed engineering is the key to network deployment and doing the job correctly from the beginning saves money and time.

In addition to these key services, Glow can provide expert project management. Our staff is well equipped to drive the schedule, resolve issues, and meet the budget. We also assist clients in solving tough technical and logistical challenges.

Along with our field engineering services, we send a certified Glow Networks engineer to the site to gather the information needed for space planning, installation design and project engineering. The engineer performs a site-readiness check to verify the site is prepared to receive equipment and commence installation.

The project engineering specification becomes the basis for inventory management, installation, and testing, and is an excellent reference source for operations and maintenance crews.

Following are some examples of projects:

  • Site engineering – optical, wireline and wireless products for multiple carriers
  • WiMAX site engineering, equipment installation, and power up for major trials

Test and Turn-Up

Once the equipment is installed, Glow can provide expert equipment verification services including commissioning, end-to-end system testing, traffic simulation, RF data collection, and integrated testing with other on-site equipment. Finally once all testing has been completed, the equipment can be turned-up or “placed in-service” to begin generating revenue.

Glow has experience with the following examples projects:

  • Commissioning, integration and acceptance testing of metro rings for a major wireless carrier
  • Installation and commissioning – optical products for carriers
  • Site engineering, equipment installation and power up of wireless (WiMAX) network components for a major vendor
  • RF data collection for GSM/UMTS / CDMA/EvDO networks
  • Soft-switch deployment for major wireless carriers
  • GGSN Deployment for major wireless carriers
  • Migration from legacy platform to NGN platform
  • WiMAX deployment and turn-up
  • IP multimedia subsystems interoperability testing
  • Element testing, fiber characterization and network acceptance testing for DWDM product
  • Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) - Test cases through deployment
